The Tree Fix Update

Check out the office update blog here!

They make it sound like a small update, “the tree fix”, but there’s all kinds of stuff going on in this one! From finally getting a tree fix to camp fires traveling upwards even when placed on slants, vending machine icons stacking on the map, a bow reload fix, team chat, a better in-game feedback UI, SWIPE LOOTING, and more!

Personally, my favorite things in here are the tree fix and the swipe looting. The tree fix is supposed to help with those pesky trees that get stuck with the red x not accepting hits, so here’s hoping! The swipe looting will allow you to toggle with “H” by default that any items in an object or your inventory that your mouse is run over will be transferred, as opposed to having to click a dozen objects individually. They also reduced clicks with changes to the water transfer system, now allowing you to hold down the transfer button and more quickly exchange water.

The map size is down to 4800 after some recommendations that our map size was too large. I agree, it made things a large travel and seems to have caused some problems with world events. Let me know what you think of the new map size, and we’ll see how big it is next month!

I’ve also in the last few months built a notification system that will alert me when the server is not running. If the server is ever down outside of 5:00AM or 5:00PM, just know I’m already on it!

Despite the fact that I don’t play much myself, I’m glad that I can provide this server to our few dedicated regulars, and any of those who are just passing by. It’s nothing exciting, a vanilla server, but I’m glad that I can give back to the Rust community by hosting a private dedicated server on my own equipment. Thanks for playing!
