The July update adds better ways to keep your horse! There are new horse models and breeds to find, hitches and troughs to make the horse yours, and horses require less food! There are of course other server and client optimizations as well.
Troughs/Hitches
The trough and hitch is now available! Here you can easily feed your horse to get it back up to full energy. The description for the item in the crafting menu is a little misleading; it makes it sound like it’s going to let you keep your horse indefinitely, but it only lets you keep your horse for as long as there’s food in the trough. The horse will continuously eat from the trough, and consume all of the food despite having full energy. It’s basically just nice for getting your horse fueled up while dropping off scrap/starting the furnaces.
The horse isn’t a picky eater, it’ll eat pretty much anything you put in there. Raw meats, vegetables, etc. Pumpkins seem like the most effective food source.
Minicopters
The minicopter got a few updates! You can now see more realistically how another player operates the copter as the joystick and pedals are operated. Fuel gauges were added, so you know when to land! The gauge is on a scale of 100 fuel, so 100 low grade = full, 50 = half, 25 = quarter, etc. If you have 100+ fuel the gauge is full.
Minicopters should now be easier to fly as well. Some client/server side performance tweaks were made to prevent framerate drops while flying, so you should have a much smoother appearance!
Trees
Trees will have been changed to more efficiently consume RAM! For those with weaker systems, you should see a few more frames per second because of this.
